Try a CPAP mask: A cure for a snoring relationship

It is known that sleep apnea can lead to decreased sexual function and a lessened desire for intimacy.  The strain that the symptoms of sleep apnea put on a relationship are the same no matter who you are.

Symptoms of Sleep Apnea that can strain a relationship

There are many very serious health conditions that sleep apnea can contribute to.  But the more visible symptoms of sleep apnea are those that cause the most problems in a relationship.  Very loud snoring that shakes the walls, restless sleep with tossing and turning, choking and gasping for air, daytime sleepiness and headaches that make intimacy more work than play.

Over time, these symptoms will affect a relationship in a negative way.   So it is vital to take the necessary steps for improvement as soon as possible!

Fixing a Snoring Relationship

Here are the steps to take to treat your sleep apnea and make your relationship better:

- See a sleep specialist to get a diagnosis and to get prescribed CPAP.  Wearing a CPAP mask will take some getting used to.  For both the patient and the partner.  It is vital that the bed partner participate in the therapy process.  The CPAP mask user will need the support of all, especially the bed partner.

- If you have been sleeping in seperate rooms, get your partner back to sleeping with you!  Now that the snoring is gone, it is time to cuddle again.  It is a clinical fact that sleep apnea sufferers use their CPAP mask more when they sleep with their partner as opposed to not sleeping together.

-  Your doctor will recommend some lifestyle adjustments.  Things like losing weight, stopping smoking, avoiding alcohol and certain medications and keeping a regular sleep schedule are all things that can improve your health and thus improve your love life!!

Once you have started getting a good nights sleep, your health will improve as well as your relationship.
