CPAP machine review – Respironics
There are several types and manufacturers of CPAP machines. This article will review the Respironics Pro M Series with C-flex.
If you suffer from sleep apnea, it is likely that your doctor has prescribed a CPAP machine with a CPAP mask for you to wear when you sleep. This is the most effective therapy for sleep apnea.
The CPAP machines that are made by Respironics may also have a comfort feature called C-flex. The unit we are reviewing today does indeed have this feature.
It also has a built in heated humidifier and an Encore Pro SmartCard, which is a card that you insert into your machine (it is about the size of a credit card) and it will record the hours you use your CPAP machine. It will also give your physician other valuable information such as the number of apnea events you have.
When given this information, your doctor can make changes to your pressures without having to do another sleep study. It is also a very, very useful tool for anyone with Medicare and certain other insurances. The data generated by this little card can give your insurance company all the information they need to pay for your machine!
This machine will also come with a travel case and there are other optional travel accessories you may choose to purchase, depending on your needs.
The primary buttons on this unit have a backlight so that you can easily see to turn your machine on or off, even in the dark.
The device is very light, weighing in at a little over two pounds. It is also very quiet, all the better for your partner!
The range of pressures it will handle is 4-20, which will be sufficient for the majority of patients. Higher pressures than 20 will be best treated with BiLevel Therapy. A ramp feature is also included.
The filters are washable pollen filters. It comes with a 2 year warranty.
